British Airways Engineering offers a total NDT inspection service for civil aircraft structures, engines and components with 24 PCN (Aero)/EN 4179 Level 2/3 qualified staff operating across its bases at London Heathrow, BAMC, Cardiff, and BAAE, Llantrisant. The London Heathrow department is manned 23 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The British Airways NDT department can provide a rapid response to most site- and workshop-based NDT inspection requests and full component NDT inspection capability. This rapid response service is fully supported by the logistics capability of British Airways, making it truly possible to position staff and equipment anywhere in the world at very short notice. Its capabilities are supported by over 62 years of aerospace NDT inspection experience. A comprehensive range of NDT equipment is held at the LHR and BACE facilities, including a 5 m × 6 m × 2.5 m radiation enclosure.
CAA/FAA/D1 approvals complement the British Airways NDT department's capabilities.
