Description:As well as holding UKAS 17025 accreditation, ALcontrol Oil Analysis Laboratory is now the only BINDT-accredited facility in Europe that offers training in lubrication management. The lab offers a world-leading analysis service based on equipment condition monitoring through fluid analysis.

We specialise in monitoring all lubricated systems and transformer oils through extensive analysis, aiding you to safely extend oil drain intervals, schedule maintenance, reduce downtime and extend warranties.

Our aims are to minimise your costs and maximise your profits by indicating possible problems with your machinery within 36 hours of oil sample receipt at the laboratory. ALcontrol Oil Analysis Laboratory has over 30 years of experience in monitoring all types of lubricated systems; whatever your business, we will be able to advise you on the condition of your oil and machinery.

The principle of oil analysis is quite simple and can be compared to a human blood test, whereby a small sample of the circulating fluid can give in-depth readings into the health of the body it is servicing. Like a blood sample, a small amount of oil can show signs of contamination, degradation or wear and tear. It is these signs that our engineers use to aid maintenance personnel in avoiding unscheduled downtime and unexpected repairs.

All results are available on a secure client-interactive website, which enables engineers to plot trends and set sample schedules, aiding maintenance professionals in the process of condition monitoring.

ALcontrol Oil Analysis Laboratory also offers extensive BINDT training courses in oil analysis and lubricant management at its state-of-the-art facility in North Wales. To obtain information on the laboratory's full range of services, please visit www.alcontrol.co.uk or phone +44 (0)1492 574750.

The Institute of Infrared Thermography (IRT) is an independent training organisation dedicated to providing world-class infrared thermography training and related services. IRT is a global company that offers scheduled training courses and specialist in-house training solutions, with continued support to students worldwide.

IRT is an accredited training organisation for BINDT and can offer third-party certification based on ISO 18436-7, second-party certification based on ASNT SNT-TC-1A and NDT courses to EN 4179.

Courses:
Level 1 ASNT (Category 1 PCN)
A theoretical background is essential for understanding the real-world problems that thermographers face. The course combines this theory with hands-on operator training that teaches not only the basics of system operation, but also the finer points of effective infrared instrument use and reporting software programmes.

Level 2 ASNT (Category 2 PCN)

An advancement upon Level 1, developing infrared thermography knowledge and providing the opportunity to examine software packages and develop baseline trending and signature analysis. A useful tool for improving condition monitoring programmes and consultancy services.

2-day Camera Operator
A practical course designed to give students the ability to utilise infrared equipment and to gain a full understanding of the efficient methods of using the technology to maximise the return on investment.

L1 and L2 Aerospace
An effective course designed to help NDT technicians implement Boeing and Airbus technical standards for the inspection of moisture ingress in honeycomb structures. The course introduces active thermography and explains the theoretical nature of the technique to allow technicians to maximise its use in the industry.

Building specific courses in association with Salford University

The most important aspect of these specialist training events is the availability of ‘real-life’ practical work. Held at the ‘Energy House’, an environmentally-controlled chamber at Salford’s Energy Hub, a series of practical exercises can be undertaken to reinforce the infrared physics required to fully understand and exploit infrared thermography.
  • Level 1 ASNT (Category 1 PCN)
  • Level 2 ASNT (Category 2 PCN)
  • 2-day Building Introduction
This introductory course is designed to introduce new students to the reality of infrared inspections on buildings, examining in detail the complex issues surrounding heat transfer in a structure and correct evaluation of thermal data.
  • Air Tightness Testing
This BINDT-approved course teaches the essential competencies needed to construct a blower door and perform air tightness testing. The theoretical element focuses upon standards, data collection and effective reporting.

Description:Qualifizierte Mitarbeiter – ein Schlüssel zum Erfolg

Anspruchsvolle Aufgaben erfordern qualifiziertes Personal.

Qualified staff – a key to success

Challenging tasks require qualified personnel. Specialists are ever more difficult to find, although they are important for the success of each enterprise. The best way to get expert personnel for your tasks is to promote and develop your own staff. That increases their motivation and brings the desired successes. SKF offers a comprehensive range of seminars which give relevant know-how. In the certified SKF training centre you will find a modern well-equipped workshop and PCs for each individual participant. Each seminar is arranged so that specialists are always available to answer questions. Based on the slogan 'practical know-how for practical applications', seminars usually begin with a theoretical part, which is then supplemented and strengthened by exercises. This means that the topics are worked through under professional supervision. That makes it more fun, facilitates understanding and verifiably increases the chances of correctly using the learning in practice. In our brochure we present our classical training programme. We are also happy to carry out seminars, which are aligned individually to your training needs and even at your site. All information and the possibility of seminar registration is available at www.skf-maintenance-services.de

Description:Whilst providing a broad spectrum of school or site-based training, the SWSNDT has been noted for its aerospace, industrial and defence activities. Training and examination are routinely conducted in the five major NDT methods, with additional specialist courses, including metallurgical and chemical disciplines, thermography, laser shearography, magnetic Barkhausen noise testing, hardness testing, conductivity testing, tensile testing, composite material inspection, acid etch inspection, anodic flaw detection and heat treatment all arranged according to client needs.

Working within the PCN, SNT-TC-1A, NAS 410 and EN 4179 schemes, courses are deliberately kept small, with the accent on practical and theoretical training rather than lecturing. Particular attention has also been paid to the compilation of specific training and examination programmes for clients employing specialist or automated inspection methods.

In order to fully support clients' needs, the SWSNDT is an authorised qualification body for PCN examinations and a BINDT outside agency for Level 3 services and EN 4170 examinations.

The SWSNDT provides NDT Level 3 consultancy services across all industry sectors via a team of dedicated, centrally-certificated ASNT and/or PCN Level 3 engineers.
