CERTIFICATION SERVICES DIVISION STAFF (JANUARY 2008)
John Thompson Eng.Tech., M.Inst.NDT., PCN Level 3 (No. 213011) - has a background in aeronautical engineering, non-destructive testing and quality management, and is overall responsible for the activities of the division, with special responsibility for development of new products and markets.
Stephen Roe PhD, MRACI, CChem - joined the Secretariat in July 2002 with responsibility for the development of new personnel certification products. Stephen retains technical and managerial responsibility for that part of the PCN scheme concerned with certification of competence of condition monitoring personnel (vibration analysis, lubrication management, acoustic emission and infrared thermography), Materials Testing and Evaluation (destructive testing) and Marine Asset Management personnel.
It is expected that, during 2008, a new position will be created within the BINDT Certification Services Division, and that position will be assigned technical and managerial responsibility for that part of the PCN Scheme concerned with certification of personnel for Non-Destructive Testing and Fabrication/Engineering Inspection, and for the assessment and approval of NDT personnel under the European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED – 97/23/EC).
Nicole Scutt (BA Hons) has been responsible since 2000 for office management and administration (including the internal quality management system), arranging meetings, scheduling audit programmes, website development, database management, and servicing PCN committees.
Samantha Mussard joined the Secretariat in 1991 and will remain responsible for the activities of the Certification Records Office until such time as Alicia Carroll and Tara-Jane Harrison, who joined the PCN Certification Records Office in January 2008, are familiar with the processing of PCN examination results, certificate renewal applications, and the issue of PCN certificates. Samantha will then take up a general administration position in the PCN Certification Services Division.
