The Venue

The Edinburgh Conference Centre is located within the Edinburgh Campus of Heriot-Watt University, set in a leafy park location with excellent transport links direct to the city centre. The University is situated approximately 6 miles from the centre of Edinburgh, Scotland's vibrant capital city, a world heritage site with stunning architecture and wonderful galleries, museums and arts venues. Edinburgh airport is in close proximity, ideal for delegates travelling from outside of the UK.


The Edinburgh Con
ference Centre is a modern purpose-built venue, comprising a state-of-the-art tiered auditorium and enough additional meeting rooms for numerous parallel sessions. Other facilities on-site include a refectory, pub, snack bar and supermarket.

Heriot-Watt University is the eighth-oldest higher education institution in the UK. The University originated as the School of Arts of Edinburgh in 1821, and in 1966, Heriot-Watt became a University by Royal Charter.

within the Conference Centre.


Social Programme

An attractive so
cial programme will be organised for participants and companions during the event to experience the attractions of Edinburgh. The organisers will make every effort to introduce participants and companions to the culture and lifestyle of Scotland. In addition to the guided Edinburgh tour, several other tours will be available after the event (by request and at additional cost).

A welcome reception, banquet and Edinburgh tour are planned for all participants. A special reception will be organised for members of the international scientific advisory committee, local organising committee
and cash sponsors.
