Established in 1988, Gilligan Engineering Services, based in the North East, has grown to be a leading supplier of gamma radiography sources, equipment and consultancy services.
Gilligan Engineering Services will be using Materials Testing 2009 to market its new gamma radiography system. The Viking system breaks new ground in the field of gamma radiography. It has been designed to respond to the changing needs of the industry and also to comply with new environmental and regulatory requirements. The Viking has been developed through extensive discussions with clients to closely meet their needs and key features are:
- The Viking offers the facility for either traditional projection radiography or close proximity radiography with Ir192, Se75 or Yb169.
- The Viking is available in three sizes to suit your needs.
- The Viking has been developed with a range of clamps and accessories:
- Pipe clamp with a variable stand-off for pipe thicknesses from 30 mm and stand-offs in excess of 0.5 m.
- Tripod footing with variable vertical and horizontal adjustment. Vertically, adjustment from 150 mm to over 1 m with 1 cm increments and horizontally up to 1 m from the tripod base. - The Viking and its accessories are supplied in rugged Peli cases offering a professional lightweight and tailored solution for site work whilst offering maximum protection during transport or when used and stored in adverse conditions.
- The Viking can be used with either manual or automatic wind out.
- The Viking unit is constructed from only high grade materials and the shielding is manufactured from Tungsten which will not give rise to any disposal costs when the unit is retired from use.
