Silverwing UK Ltd
Stand A1
Silverwing UK Ltd manufactures a comprehensive range of NDT equipment which includes a range of magnetic flux leakage floor scanners, ultrasonic crawlers and ultrasonic corrosion mapping systems.
On display at Materials Testing 2011 will be our new Floormap3D and RMS2. The Floormap3D is an MFL tank floor inspection system with a unique (2 patents applied for) method of discriminating between top and bottom surface originating corrosion. Silverwing released the first Floormap, the TFT, back in 1991, and have been continuously investing and developing ever since, pushing technology, reliability and functionality to the limit. The FloormapVS2i was released in 2008 and is currently one of the leading MFL systems on the market with a blue chip client base. Continuous research, development and incorporation of new technologies have resulted in the next generation of MFL floor scanners. The Floormap3D will enhance Silverwing’s position and reputation in the market place as the leading supplier of MFL tank floor inspection systems.
The RMS2 is a high-speed remote access ultrasonic corrosion mapping system. The latest version of the RMS incorporates a re-designed tractor unit allowing the RMS2 to scan pipe with a diameter as low as 152 mm (6 inches) up to flat plate. Incorporated into the tractor units are stronger, more durable drive belts and belt pulleys, which increase reliability, robustness and performance. There are three scanning heads available: the RMS2 600, designed to maximise scanning rates on large areas such as tank shells, pressure vessels and other large structures; the RMS2 450, designed for inspection of smaller diameter pipe work; and the RMS2 300, designed as a general purpose scanner for inspecting areas with obstacles, such a nozzles that would prevent access using the wider scanning heads.
The RMS2 data acquisition software seamlessly integrates scanner control, data capture and data analysis into one user-friendly package. The intuitive data acquisition and analysis software shows a real-time display of the A-Scan, C-Scan and positional data during a scan, all of which are recorded when a scan is saved for post inspection analysis.
Along with the established data acquisition software is the new C-Map reporting software suite, which allows the user to import multiple RMS2 C-Scans to show a complete inspection, add comments, obstructions, digital photographs and inspection results from other Silverwing products. The new software also incorporates a comprehensive range of report printing functions, giving the customer a complete corrosion mapping inspection report. With the capability of operating at a scanning speed of 730 mm per second, the RMS2 is one of the fastest high-resolution C-scan imaging systems on the market today.
