Established in 1958, Sonatest Ltd will be using Materials Testing 2011 to market its range of ultrasonic NDT equipment, designed here in the UK. A highlight of the display will be a demonstration of the veo and corrosion wheelprobe scanning system. Launched in 2011, the system consists of a veo 16:64, a 64-element corrosion wheelprobe and a corrosion wheelprobe scanner, which enables operators to perform highly accurate corrosion mapping using a semi-automated solution. The scan width is close to 50 mm in one pass and it can be used on pipe diameters from 4-42 inches.
Milton Keynes-based Sonatest Ltd also offers the new Sitescan D+ series of flaw detectors to the market. With an upgraded scroll wheel, larger screen and revamped user keypad, the design of the unit is enhanced; the software ‘Persistence’ is also a new feature.
