After the presentations and discussion, people should make their way to the National Composites Centre for 13:45, for a two-hour talk and tour of the facility. Attendance at just the NCC visit requires prior registration with BINDT.
DETAILS OF THE WORKSHOP
This workshop, organised by the Aerospace Committee of BINDT, aims to bring together engineers to debate the future requirements of non-destructive testing for the aerospace industry. A morning of talks and discussion will be followed by a visit to the newly-opened National Composites Centre.
The morning’s discussion will focus not just on emerging technologies (the solutions), but also on the problems and issues facing NDT in the future that drive innovation or limit capability.
Sensitivity, cost and reliability are often considered to be key in motivating NDT development. However, what are the aims and how can they be achieved? Although individual organisations may be looking into these issues, how does the industry as a whole wish to deal with them?
The workshop is open to all that are interested in how our inspection requirements may evolve to meet the future needs of the aerospace industry. The BINDT Aerospace Committee will use the outcome to develop a strategy for the future requirements of our industry.
