The Position:
Due to an expanding workload, an Investigation Engineer is sought to work alongside a dedicated team of engineers and technicians at the company’s Cambridge office.
This is a full-time permanent post and the main roles and responsibilities will include:
  • Site inspection, survey and measurement of structures
  • Recording engineering observations: note taking, sketches and photographs
  • Collection of NDT data using specialist instruments
  • Analysis and presentation of site-collected data.
The successful candidate will have a keen interest in working both on site and in structural/civil engineering; ideally with a degree- level qualification or above and must hold a full driving licence. Good computer literacy is required.

The role is primarily site-based but also includes some office working. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential. Some prior site experience is preferred but candidates who have limited or no experience will also be considered. GBG will provide all instrumentation and safety training as necessary.

Candidates must be able to travel within the UK regularly, often daily to/from site; all appropriate travel expenses will be reimbursed. Sitework occasionally requires extended hours and/or overnight or weekend working. Office work is based around a 37.5-hour week, Monday to Friday.
