An opportunity exists for a mechanically-trained person to join one of the UKs leading-brand manufacturers as a Level 2 UT NDT Technician.

Working within the reliability team, the successful candidate will be part of an important asset management programme within the business.

This Monday-Friday day-shift role will be based in the Rugby area.

The role:
This heavy industry manufacturer has a large maintenance team supported by nine asset management members. This is the tenth role in the team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a variety of mechanical testing and analysis on all the equipment on site, ensuring preventative solutions are employed before serious mechanical failures occur.

Duties will include:
  • NDT, ie ultrasonics, magnetic particle and dye penetration tests
  • Vibration analysis
  • Oil analysis
  • Thermography
  • Wear monitoring.

As part of the company’s preventative maintenance strategy, duties may also include:
  • Lubrication
  • Routine component replacement
  • Routine running checks.

The candidate:
To be successful in this role, candidates must have attained PCN Level 2 certification in ultrasonics, have a background using mechanical skills within a manufacturing environment and preferably have some form of mechanical qualification (apprenticeship is ideal).

Candidates must have previously carried out similar testing processes and candidates with a PCN certificate (personnel certification in non-destructive testing) will have a distinct advantage (Level 2 ideally).

As reporting is a key part of the analysis process, candidates are required to proficiently use various MS Office programmes, including Word, Excel and Access.
