We are growing our A320neo fleet and on the way are A350s and more Boeing 787 Dreamliners. A time of investment and growth in our fleet, producing endless opportunities for our NDT Engineers to work on any of our aircraft.

A new era in engineering is here, and we have a rare opportunity to join our Non-Destructive Testing team as we strive to be the preferred provider of competitive Aircraft Maintenance services to British Airways and its valued customers.

About the role

Technical expertise:
  • Certify to the fullest extent of authorisations held. Responsible for ensuring NDT Inspections are completed in compliance with approved instructions, airworthiness and regulatory requirements.
  • Working with our Aircraft Engineers and Technical Support teams, you could be delivering solo or team inspections in varying degrees of complexity.

Value added delivery:
  • Take every opportunity to extend your knowledge and skills base with training and experience.
  • Crafts a culture of continuous improvement in a production environment, in order to increase unit performance and colleague development.
  • Ensures and supports effective communication.

Who you will work with


Duty Shift Manager (your line manager), Satellite Engineers, all Production grades, ramp/Base Planning, Engineering Control Centres and Technical Support Group (Part M)

You will need

  • A PCN (Aero) or BS EN4179 Level 2 minimum certification in Ultrasonic, Eddy Current, Magnetic Particle and Liquid Penetrant inspection techniques. Level 2 in Radiography and/or Thermography is an advantage, together with experience in Ultrasonic Phased-array inspection
  • Ability to produce clear and concise reports, with shown experience of NDT in an Airline/Aerospace or MRO environment
  • Problem solving and acting on own initiative is important so you can make timely and informed decisions with an ability to bring together and understand complex information
  • Ability to interpret technical publications to make fact-based decisions in a challenging operational environment is key. To combine these capabilities with an innovative, flexible and adaptable approach
  • Self-motivated
  • Capable of working without direct supervision and as part of a team
  • Demonstrates Good Airmanship
  • Attain NDT qualifications and authorisations in additional NDT Methods as required by the business
  • Knowledge and experience of aircraft structures and materials.
