Based at RAF Waddington, AAR International Inc delivers supply chain management solutions to the Royal Air Force’s fleet of E-3D Sentry aircraft. Employing over 90 people, the company provides component maintenance, repair and overhaul for a wide range of aircraft components, along with dedicated buyers, logistics specialists and support service functions such as commercial, finance and IT.

AAR has an exciting opportunity for an individual to join the Engineering Department as an NDT Technician.

The role is to provide specialist capability in providing NDI and NDT to support both fleet depth aircraft maintenance and component repair and overhaul. This will include the provision of detailed reports that identify time, materials and equipment required to accomplish contractually agreed NDT tasking, drafting new NDT work instructions as required and seeking appropriate authorisations and responsible Level 3 sign-off for any NDT requests falling outside of contractually-agreed tasking.

The applicant must have proven experience of working in a mechanical environment or experience within OEM, independent repairer or RAF maintenance or overhaul environment, within the aerospace sector. They will also be qualified to and meet the minimum requirements for EN 4179 to provide NDT Level 2 support to the Engineering Department, specifically in a minimum of two methods: penetrant, magnetic particle, eddy current, ultrasonic and radiographic testing methods.

The applicant will be able to demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a continuous improvement ethos, and be willing to learn and develop in this role. Subject to customer requirements and business needs, to satisfy team flexibility, the ability to participate in flexible working such as on call/call out duty is also required.

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the UK and be able to successfully undergo UK Security Clearance.
