A technology organisation with bases in the UK, Southeast Asia, India, the Middle East, Central Asia and the USA is seeking an NDT Technician.

The staff provide expertise in joining and fabrication, materials science and structural integrity. Services include: generic research; contract research & development (R&D); technical information; engineering services and advice; standards development; and training and qualification services.

The NDT Section is expanding due to significant and sustained order growth and is therefore seeking a talented individual to enter this fast-moving team environment to underpin and drive its technical expertise.

Job description and role duties:
Contributing to internationally renowned work on established and emerging NDT processes, techniques and procedures, the successful candidate will enjoy responsibility for and rapidly gain experience in NDT R&D. The successful applicant will strengthen the core skills of an exciting and innovative team and provide:

  • Project management, preparation and negotiation of contract proposals
  • Laboratory experiments, delivery of site inspection services and preparation of reports
  • Supervision of a student
  • Mentoring, guidance and support to postgraduate industrial research projects.

Person specification:
  • Good team and networking abilities
  • Demonstrable initiative, self-motivation and strong verbal and written communication skills
  • NDT inspection qualifications (for example to ISO 9712) in conventional and advanced inspection methods and industrial experience.

This role requires regular travel within the UK and occasionally overseas according to the demands of project work.
