A Non-Destructive Testing Technician is sought for a permanent vacancy with an immediate start available.
This varied role will involve operating specialist machines and working within a precision engineering environment inspecting and testing high-end materials within the aerospace industry. The purpose of the role will be assessing grinding conditions at different stages of manufacture and to ensure compliance with customer and Nadcap requirements using magnetic particle inspection (MPI) and fluorescent penetrant inspection (FPI).

  • Ensure the section meets customer specifications on quality and delivery performance according to agreed target and production plans, with the in-house Level 3
  • Participate proactively in the identification of the production deviations
  • Support production engineers and quality assurance (QA) regarding the continuous improvement activities using problem-solving technics, six-sigma, root-cause analysis and 5S principles
  • Drive on-time processing in the section, optimised solution utilisation and training requirements of operators for Nadcap (review once a month)
  • Ensure that routine/preventative maintenance is performed regularly and organised accordingly with maintenance
  • Ensure that operating procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all areas are up to date and work with the manager to ensure that the procedures are adhered to
  • To ensure compliance with Nadcap requirements in order to maintain accreditation for customers
  • Accredited to EN 4179
  • Experience and educated to magnetic particle inspection Level 2, fluorescent penetrant inspection Level 2 and acid etch inspection Level 2.
Leading and managing people: 
  • Leading the training programme of the section and to ensure all operators have training plans updated and signed off accordingly as per customer requirements
  • As required in the absence of the Level 3 through given instruction or acting on own accord and to record any undue issues.
Health and safety:
  • Ensure that EHS has highest priority (for example through 5S, zero accident culture, etc).

Shifts: double day shift – weekly rotation
Early shift: 06.00-14.00 from Monday- Thursday/06.00-12.00 on Friday.
Late shift: 14.00-22.00 from Monday-Thursday/12.00-18.00 on Friday.
