A Surrey-based company that is a manufacturer of components and materials for the Aerospace industry is hiring a Quality Manager to manage quality from a product and process perspective, working to develop processes internally and manage the supply chain and to oversee maintenance of the quality management systems.

  • Work towards ISO, AS, NADCAP and customer specifications
  • Drive the development of robust processes that affect the quality of the product by planning, coordinating and executing tactical department projects and corporate initiatives to meet established deadlines and policy deployment objectives
  • Monitor and analyse processes and/or product outputs, identify systemic problems and opportunity areas, providing data and direction
  • Manage non-conforming products and act as the Quality Management System Representative
  • Create standard operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Deploy appropriate measures to identify the root cause of errors and close out non-conformance reports (NCRs)
  • Have responsibility for administrative and technical leadership of the Quality and NDT employees, including overseeing professionals and/or technical level direct reports in the completion of quality processes and improvement programmes
  • Actively engage in the daily operations of the Quality Inspection cell, ensuring the necessary support is available to maintain an uninterrupted production schedule
  • Work with the Head of Operations and team members to drive process improvements to work toward zero-defect quality performance
  • Leading internal and external audits, required to maintain approvals and certification
  • Maintain strong communication with customers, suppliers and internal personnel to ensure quality level is meeting expectations
  • Provide leadership in the balancing of compliance practices with other business initiatives to allow all objectives of the business to be satisfied
  • Take responsibility for implementing HR and Health & Safety initiatives within the team.
The candidate:
  • Have experience working in a similar role in an aerospace engineering environment, ensuring products are manufactured at the right cost and level of quality
  • Be able to provide evidence of strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Be well versed with ISO, AS and NADCAP requirements
  • Show commitment to continuous improvement
  • Have the capability to work autonomously
  • Have a proven track record in communicating and engaging with people across all levels.
