Job details:
An opportunity exists for an individual from a scientific, engineering or commercial sales background to move into an exciting sales role, working for a global market-leading supplier of innovative industrial instrumentation, offering full sales and product training.

This global leader in a wide range of industrial instrumentation offers scientific solutions based on innovative products and services that anticipate the evolving needs and exceed the expectations of life science and industrial professionals. For the inspection of different components and the determination of materials, it offers a wide range of industrial technologies, including non-destructive testing (NDT), X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysers.

The role:
This market-leading organisation is now seeking to recruit a highly-committed and enthusiastic individual to join its NDT sales team, to promote its growing portfolio of industrial instrumentation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the direct sales and promotion of the industrial instrumentation product portfolio comprising NDT, remote visual inspection (RVI), analytical instrumentation (ANI) and industrial microscopy. The role involves demonstrating industrial equipment and carrying out meetings with business and procurement managers, with a view to growing market share for its portfolio, as well as providing after-sales support.

Main duties:
  • All aspects of managing a sales territory
  • Establishing new, and maintaining existing, relationships with customers
  • Managing and interpreting customer requirements
  • Coordinating sales projects
  • Making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product will meet client needs
  • Providing pre-sales technical assistance and product education
  • Recording activity using the company’s CRM system
  • Attending exhibitions, workshops and educational meetings
  • Working across a wide variety of environments, including high-end research in academia and the UK manufacturing quality assurance and research and development facilities within a number of industries, including automotive, aerospace, power generation and electronics.

Your background:
Applicants of particular interest are mostly likely to come from an industrial sales, engineering or scientific background, with the desire to move into a more commercial customer-facing technical sales role.

Scientists or engineers with experience of working with NDT equipment are also encouraged to apply, with the desire to move into a commercial sales role.

Candidates will need to be well organised, an excellent relationship builder and potential regional sales manager, with good attention to detail and the ability to ‘up-sell’ and to work autonomously in a field-based sales capacity.

The benefits:
The successful applicant will benefit from first-class product training, recognised by the industry, which will run on an ongoing basis as new products are introduced. A generous remuneration package is also guaranteed, including competitive salary plus a lucrative bonus scheme, company car, private healthcare and contributory pension scheme, along with the opportunity to progress your career within a global market-leading organisation.
