Job details:
A leading company in the design and manufacture of bespoke heavy fabrications, working across the power, water and general manufacturing sectors, is recruiting for a PCN Level 2/CSWIP 3.1 in dye penetrant inspection (DPI) and magnetic particle inspection (MPI) with experience in ASME codings and the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED).

Duties:
  • Reviewing design calculations for CPR/PED jobs
  • Creating weld maps and weld lists for CPR/PED jobs
  • Ensuring code compliance throughout the manufacture of fabricated items by issuing pre-fabrication dossiers
  • Reviewing welding consumable certification to ensure code compliance and chasing up consumable certification
  • Carrying out welder audits
  • Updating and reviewing welder qualifications
  • Creating specific Welding Procedure Specifications (WPSs) using weld specification software
  • Creating Welding Procedure Qualification Records (WPQRs) using weld specification software
  • Creating welder qualifications using Welderqual software
  • Arranging all destructive testing
  • Arranging all non-destructive testing
  • Welding inspection
  • DPI
  • MPI
  • Dimensional inspection
  • Paint reporting
  • Liaising with notified bodies, booking witnessing, etc
  • Scheduling maintenance and repair of welding equipment
  • Filling Lifetime Quality Records (LTQR) books upon job completion in accordance with customer and technical specifications
  • Reviewing NDT certification and procedures to assess suitability of manufactured items
  • Reviewing material certification to ensure it is in accordance with the PED/CPR, ensuring all CE marking is present on certificates and that the materials match up with what is required
  • Maintenance of EN 1090/13084 Factory Production Control (FPC), ensuring that all technical operations and quality documents are up to date and tie in with ISO 9001 procedures
  • Reviewing drawings for technical suitability
  • Creating inspection test/control plans
  • Creating technical procedures for contract-specific documentation
  • Meeting with clients when required
  • Carrying out audits on subcontractors when required
  • Liaising with customers to ensure tight contract deadlines are met
  • Checking material requisitions
  • Creating non-conformance reports (NCRs) for workshops
  • Carrying out maintenance of pressure test register and pressure gauge calibrations.
Essential qualifications:
  • PCN Level 2 DPI and MPI
  • CSWIP 3.1.
Desirable qualifications:
  • HNC qualification
  • IWE qualification.
