Re-establishing the General Technical Committee

The British Institute of NDT is re-establishing the General Technical Committee (GTC). The GTC is concerned with technical matters relating only to the certification of personnel engaged in non-destructive testing (NDT), and its members should therefore have relevant expertise in the industrial application of NDT or the training of personnel in the application of NDT.

Membership of the GTC shall be by the acceptance of nominations from NDT organisations and major industrial companies with a specific interest in the certification of the competence of NDT personnel.

Each organisation approved as a BINDT authorised qualifying body (AQB) shall nominate a representative, who will be an ordinary member of the GTC. Additional representatives of AQBs may participate in formally constituted GTC Working Groups (WG).

Ordinary members of the GTC shall retire after three years, but shall be eligible for re-nomination by the organisation(s) they represent. Member organisations may, at any time, change their nomination or nominate alternates by informing the Certification Manager in writing.

Any organisation that wishes to be involved in the GTC should contact Nicole Scutt, tel: +44 (0)1604 89 3856 or email: nicole.scutt@bindt.org
