Unicorn Automation (NDT) Ltd has established a worldwide reputation for the supply of automated tube testing systems. The main product line is Unicorn's range of ultrasonic rotary head systems, which provide the capability to test tubes from 12 mm right up to 700 mm OD. Additional systems have been provided for online weld seam inspection, gas cylinder and bar inspection.
All systems use state-of-the-art computerised electronic processing based on industrial PCs running the Windows operating system. This can provide up to 128 channels, parallel firing at 20 kHz. Turnkey systems provide the operator with a rich graphical environment for configuring and presenting ultrasonic test results. Fully-automated calibration facilities greatly reduce the complexity and time required for day-to-day operation and sophisticated real-time defect discrimination significantly reduces the possibility of false indications.
For smaller tube diameters up to 139 mm, Unicorn also offers a mobile test service, allowing automated tube testing to be carried out at the customer's premises.
In addition to the equipment supply, Unicorn offers a service providing equipment auditing, performance assessments, general investigations and/or redesigns to provide solutions to operational problems with existing NDT systems.
