Multax Ltd, a producer of high-quality complex metallic components for Formula 1, medical, motorsport and aerospace customers, using a variety of three- and five-axis machining centres and mill-turn lathes, is currently looking for a CNC Production Engineer to join its well-established team in Andover, Hampshire.
The CNC Production Engineer will communicate the job-specific costs to the commercial team by building a formal quotation within the material requirements planning (MRP) system (using the factory operating system and other supporting tools when required).
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- Estimating the cost of CNC machined components in a variety of materials
- Building collaborative internal and external relationships (existing clients as well as production, quality, commercial and procurement teams)
- Uploading successful quotations into the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system
- Supervising the procurement of material in a timely manner
- Chasing feedback of outstanding estimates and updating the company database
- Managing external processes, such as NDT, anodising, heat treatment, etc
- Monitoring quoted times for the manufacturing process, including computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) programming, machine run times, job-specific tooling costs and set-up times
- Overseeing production reviews to ensure costings are accurate and are meeting customer requirements.
Person specification:
- Previous experience in a similar estimating/CNC machining role and a technical background within a busy and demanding environment
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and principals
- A good understanding of MRP systems
- Organised and a natural problem-solver
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Outstanding time-management skills with the ability to use own initiative
- Exceptional user of Microsoft Office
- Efficient coordinator who possesses a detailed approach to work
- Good analytical, problem-solving and planning skills.
