Thames Water is seeking an experienced thermography-biased condition monitoring specialist to join the team as part of a major refresh of its condition monitoring programme.

The successful candidate will put their thermography skills to use to apply advanced techniques and drive forward the future of maintenance in the company.

The role:
  • Act as the technical lead on thermography-based condition monitoring across the entire operational business
  • Work closely with the local operational teams, providing training and technical support on thermography, as well as undertaking more detailed thermographic surveys when required
  • Perform in-depth analysis of the data and make recommendations to the field teams to prevent asset failures, increase plant availability and maximise asset whole life cost
  • Assist with and potentially lead root cause analysis workshops.
  • The successful candidate will be expected to progress quickly into the role and be operationally active within the first three months. Training in other condition monitoring techniques will be provided to complement their skill set.
Requirements:
  • Qualified with a minimum of Level 2 certification in thermography
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to clearly interact with stakeholders and operational teams, both in writing and orally
  • The ability to manage and prioritise own workload, working away from direct supervision, with an enthusiastic and positive approach, taking accountability for the role while working accurately and flexibly
  • A maintenance engineering background and the ability to understand asset faults, carry out in-depth thermographic analysis and make recommendations.
