An experienced Electromechanical Maintenance Engineer is sought for an automotive injection moulding manufacturer. 

The role will suit a proven Electromechanical Maintenance Engineer or Maintenance Technician with experience within a manufacturing environment. Applicants do not have to have experience of plastic mouldings or injection moulding production machinery, as full training will be provided. They must, however, have good experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC fault finding and problem solving.

Main purpose:

  • Assess all notified production stoppages and initiate/take remedial action.
Main responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive support to manufacturing cells, manufacturing technicians, manufacturing engineers and operations managers using multi-disciplinary skills
  • Support new product, tooling and equipment introduction 
  • Support continuous improvement programmes
  • Maintain and support equipment/processes to meet the demands of the business
  • Support facilities maintenance, including the sprinkler system, fire alarms, buildings and facilities.
General responsibilities:
  • Direct support to rectify equipment and process failures/breakdowns
  • Work with manufacturers and suppliers to provide wider technical support
  • Work with the tooling department to minimise tool failures and breakdowns
  • Provide support in the testing of equipment
  • Support, improve and maintain all assembly equipment, including three- and six-axis robots and facilities
  • Provide technical support to the business manager and supervisors on all shifts
  • Inform the line manager of any difficulties in actioning the above and agree a resolution
  • Any other duties that may reasonably be required by the line manager or director.
Candidate requirements:
  • Experience of servicing/maintaining machines in a manufacturing environment
  • A relevant engineering qualification and/or suitable industry experience
  • Knowledge of injection moulding/robotics/hydraulic systems would be advantageous
  • Strong fault finding and diagnostic skills
  • A willingness to learn/develop
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team player.
