Engineering Apprenticeship

Lufthansa Technik Landing Gear Services UK is offering the chance to gain quality work-based training while continuing to study towards a recognised vocational qualification during a four-year apprenticeship. Based in Hayes, near Heathrow, the company is a leader in the repair and overhaul of aircraft landing gears and a member of the Lufthansa Technik Group.

Year one (Kingston College):
Learn practical skills and engineering theory in the Industrial Training Centre at the company’s partner educational provider, Kingston College.

Year two (Kingston College/Lufthansa Technik):
Obtain a BTEC Level 3 diploma in engineering by attending one day in college and four days on site in Hayes, while receiving quality training in the company’s departments while on rotation.

Years three and four (Lufthansa Technik):
Obtain a Level 3 diploma in advanced manufacturing and engineering by being on site full-time in Hayes.

Training rotations in the workplace can take place in areas such as electroplating, manufacturing, non-destructive testing, disassembly and build and electrics.

Requirements:

• At least five GCSEs (grades 9-5), including maths, English and science. Predicted grades can be accepted
• Flexibility, team spirit, good communication skills, determination and high levels of self-motivation
• The ability to commute to the locations at Hayes, Middlesex, and Kingston College
• Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK or possess a legal work permit.
