Manufacturing Manager

A Manufacturing Manager is sought to join a well-established and successful company based in Bedfordshire that is working on the development of innovative special-purpose equipment within a low-volume manufacturing environment.
The successful Manufacturing Manager will join the management team of the company, which offers full design, manufacturing, installation and commissioning of turnkey solutions to both independent manufacturers and household brands.
This role would be suited to a candidate with a process engineering background and experience within a manufacturing environment that has encompassed pressure vessel manufacture and system build, encompassing pneumatics, hydraulics, fluid flow and control as well as heating and cooling techniques. 
An understanding of systems that are controlled using a programmable logic controller (PLC) would be highly advantageous.

Requirements:

• An engineering higher national certificate (HNC) or degree qualification in an engineering subject, for example mechanical, production or process engineering, etc.
• Recent and relevant experience working as a Technical Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Process Manager or a Technical Lead within a complex bespoke engineering manufacturing environment
• Experience in the documentation and inspection of pressure vessels and machinery
• Experience or qualified in non-destructive testing (NDT) and visual welding inspection would be preferred
• Experience in quality systems  (American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)) would be advantageous
• An understanding of process equipment calculation for items such as pumps, heat exchangers and flow control
• Experience of pneumatics, hydraulics and process applications using steam as an energy source would be a distinct advantage.
