NDT Inspector – aerospace

A highly successful aerospace engineering company that continues to secure orders from around the world for its precision mechanisms is seeking an NDT Inspector to ensure that its bespoke and cutting-edge designs meet very stringent performance specifications.

The main responsibilities of the NDT Inspector include:

  • Non-destructive testing of precision components from in-house manufacture/assembly, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Updating and maintaining paperwork associated with non-destructive testing procedures
  • Maintaining all of the non-destructive testing equipment and carrying out required checks 
  • Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers when required.
Additional responsibilities of the NDT Inspector will include:
  • Inspecting precision components from in-house manufacture/assembly and survey
  • Updating and maintaining paperwork associated with the inspection procedures.
Required qualifications:
  • Non-destructive testing qualification in magnetic particle testing of aerospace products (current and in date).
Skills/requirements:
  • A good understanding of non-destructive testing techniques
  • The ability to write non-destructive testing techniques (if required)
  • Good working knowledge of ISO 9001:2001 and ideally also AS9100 Rev C
  • Computer literate with database experience 
  • The ability to work well in a team environment with good communication skills
  • An organised and methodical approach
  • Manufacturing experience (mechanical)
  • The ability to interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience in using precision measuring equipment
  • A good understanding of mechanical inspection techniques.
