An NDT Inspector Team Leader is sought.
Duties:
- Responsible for internal and external audits (Nadcap, business line, quality specific)
- Work closely with the business development/sales and marketing team to support with customer requests
- Incorporate Testia policies and procedures
- Establish goals and objectives for the team and conduct annual appraisals
- Ensure that the business line has adequately qualified staff, equipment, facilities and other resources to accomplish its goals, including managing inspection team rotas around customer workload and holiday
requests - Approve weekly timesheets every month and any pay enhancements
- Create a harmonious working environment, train and mentor staff and motivate all team members to perform efficiently
- Support recruitment, for example review CVs, select applicants for interview, attend interviews and choose the correct candidate to make the offer in line with human resources
- Confirm each employee’s attendance, performance, conduct and suitability for continued employment at the end of their probation period
- Track and report business line key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Maintain obtained skills and certifications while acquiring new ones
- Work on requirements provided by management whenever called upon
- Plan, evaluate and carry out non-destructive testing (NDT) for national and international customers
- Carry out tests in the areas of magnetic particle testing, dye penetrant testing, visual inspection, X-ray testing, ultrasonic testing and eddy current testing
- Document test results in writing in accordance with local and global company procedures
- Carry out standardised tests on a wide variety of materials
- Travel nationally and internationally as and when the business requires.
Requirements:
- Qualification/certification in accordance with EN 4179 in the methods of: radiographic testing, ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, penetrant testing and eddy current testing
- Documented experience hours for all NDT methods held
- Documented aerospace/aircraft work experience hoursIn-service/manufacturing inspection experience
- Experience in the inspection of metallic and composite components
- Valid Class B driving licence and willingness to travel (primarily nationally)
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Possess an independent and structured way of working
- Ability to work in a team and be resilient and flexible.
