Job details:
A Level 2 NDT Technician with either fluorescent penetrant inspection (FPI), dye penetrant inspection (DPI) or liquid penetrant inspection (LPI) experience is sought.

Job purpose:
  • The predominant focus of this role will be to provide technical support in inspecting and testing the company’s products using FPI techniques in accordance with EN 4179 Level 2
  • Understand the products, equipment set-up and NDT operations
  • Follow specific operating procedures
  • Follow and promote health & safety practices
  • Interpret and evaluate test results.
Duties:
  • Review routers, procedures, specifications and other instructions for completeness and instructions to perform the operation
  • Maintain all equipment, making sure it is in good order to use
  • Assist with all process and control checks
  • Generate new or amend data cards as required
  • Interpret, evaluate and report evaluation results as required and outlined
  • Support with training of trainees
  • Work a three-shift pattern.
About the candidate:
  • Able to provide logged hours as NDT FPI technician
  • Currently hold or have previously held EN 4179 or NAS 410 Level 2 FPI
  • Capable of interpreting standards and specifications
  • Able to work in a team and autonomously
  • Self-motivated
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to multitask
  • Excellent communicator and a team player
  • Able to work in a fast-paced and high-pressured environment
  • Aerospace and/or automotive experience is ideal
  • Able to work shift patterns in line with company policy.
