Shaw Pipeline Services (SPS) is looking for an Operations Coordinator to join its team during an exciting period of development and growth.

A division of Shawcor, Shaw Pipeline Services provides pipeline weld inspection services to the oil & gas industry. It was established in 1990 with the aim to deliver automated ultrasonic inspection (AUT), later developing its own in-house real-time radiography (RTR). As of today, the company is regarded as a global leader in the non-destructive testing field. 

The successful candidate will be joining the company at its base in Great Yarmouth, where operational and management support is provided to the company’s various clients and projects on a local and global basis.

Responsibilities of the Operations Coordinator at Shaw Pipeline Services will include:

  • Training – maintaining the certification records and the training mix, updating relevant systems and booking training renewals or new requirements
  • Scheduling – working with management in regard to mobilisation requirements, identifying project certification requirements and ensuring visa, marine book and work permits are obtained
  • Travel bookings – arranging flights, hire cars and accommodation
  • Radiation medicals – maintaining dose records, identifying trends and liaising with RPS with 
  • results
  • Data – keeping certain statistics for management review, highlighting areas of concern and maintaining systems in line with GDPR
  • General admin – helping to maintain office facilities and services.
To be a successful Operations Coordinator, the following skills and experiences are required:
  • Experience of crewing activities, including dealing with global mobility
  • Excellent computer skills are required, with the ability to learn new systems
  • Knowledge of GDPR requirements and implications.
  • Some knowledge of NDT/radiography would be beneficial, but is not essential
  • To be thorough, organised and diligent, with the ability to multitask and cope with changing requirements.
In return, Shaw Pipeline Services will offer a salary of £22,000-£26,500 per annum, 25 days’ annual leave (plus bank holidays), an enhanced pension scheme, life insurance and opportunities for development and progression.
