A global manufacturing company that provides integrated manufacturing solutions for the aerospace, defence, medical and other related industries is seeking a Quality Inspection Operative to join its team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting all functions of the inspection department, including NDT, visual and batch inspection, operating CMMs, as well as carrying out all required in-process verification of components.

This role will include the expansion and further training of the individual into the wider areas of the department as and when required.

Key responsibilities:

  • Carrying out all inspection duties in accordance with all operating, workplace and customer specifications
  • Ensuring the compliance of the machining process in accordance with company specifications and customer requirements
  • Identifying and understanding engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Working collaboratively to ensure that company quality management system (QMS) requirements are met
  • Maintaining documentation in accordance with the company’s QMS
  • Maintaining departmental quality and working standards
  • Ensuring all departmental targets, KPIs and continuous improvement activities are met
  • Identifying and communicating all non-conformance and quality issues accordingly
  • Ensuring departmental compliance with all internal and external audits.

Key skills required:

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent working knowledge of CMMs is desirable
  • Programming knowledge is desirable
  • Experience with hand-held manual measuring equipment is essential
  • Experience within a precision engineering environment
  • The ability to work with others and as an individual.

Person specification:


The company is looking for a dedicated, hardworking, driven individual who can demonstrate excellent attention to detail. They will be a proactive thinker with an abundance of common sense and a ‘can do’ attitude. Good communication and organisation skills and the ability to work well within a team, with a willingness to develop their personal skills in line with departmental needs, are required.

Hours:
Double days (37.5 hours): Monday-Friday (6.00 am to 1.30 pm), Monday-Thursday (13.15 pm to 9.00 pm), Friday (13.15 pm -7.45 pm).
