A Radiographer – NDT is sought to join a dynamic and friendly team to work with X-rays. On offer is the chance to be part of a team that inspects and certifies the quality of nuclear weapon products. The successful candidate should hold certifications in PCN/ASNT/EN 4179 or equivalent to Levels 1 or 2.

Applicants are sought from industrial backgrounds who have a sound understanding in the non-destructive testing (NDT) profession and, if possible, have experience with computed tomography.

All training will be provided as well as a career path towards certification to advance a career as a non-destructive testing professional. The company encourages and supports personal growth in a broad range of skills (including other NDT processes) to enable the successful candidate to fulfil their potential. They will take on the challenge to deliver radiography service with a friendly team at AWE, inspecting many types of warhead products.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out radiography using digital, film and computed radiography processes
  • Carry out duties to support the safe system of work for radiography
  • Accept or reject finished items
  • Report inspection results with those responsible for products
  • Carry out inspection duties to meet programme demand and deliver continuous improvement in product quality
  • Work to company deadlines and targets
  • Engage with the wider team, relevant AWE stakeholders and other functions to enhance inspection techniques
  • Inspect final products to ensure they are manufactured to a high standard.
