The successful candidate will report to the Maintenance Manager and support the teams within maintenance and production.

The role:
  • Principal areas of loss elimination, risk management and lifecycle asset management
  • Track production losses and abnormally high maintenance cost assets, then develop strategies to reduce those losses or high costs. Work as an integral part of plant improvement teams
  • Manage risk to help achieve the strategic objectives of the site in the areas of environmental health and safety, asset capability, quality and production
  • Ensure reliability is factored into the design, installation or modification of assets. Work with respective Maintenance Engineers in implementing effective PM and spares strategies. Effectively utilise predictive and other non-destructive testing methodologies designed to identify and isolate inherent reliability problems
  • Present reports, analysis and plans for approval. Produce key performance indicators, including MTBF, MTTR and resource utilisation.

The ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in either a mechanical or electrical discipline
  • Proven experience working in a similar environment
  • Experience in a reliability function is not essential but experience within a maintenance role and the ability and drive to learn the necessary skills is a must
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude towards both personal and process safety
  • Experience of working with CMMS, ideally SAP.

Familiarity with the following tools:

  • Failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA)
  • Reliability hazard analysis
  • Fault tree analysis
  • Root cause analysis
  • Criticality analysis
  • Testability analysis
  • Human error analysis
  • Preventative/planned maintenance optimisation (PMO)
  • Maintainability information.

Possess knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, guidance and procedures relating to the design, installation, operation and maintenance of equipment or systems (steam generation/distribution, air compressors, cooling towers, furnaces, reaction vessels, storage tanks, pumps, fans, gear boxes, agitators, turbines, rotary valves, pressure relieving devices, pipework, etc). Experience in condition monitoring techniques. Take active part in managing Ex inspection programme.

Possess knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, guidance and procedures relating to the design, installation, operation and maintenance of equipment or systems (power generation and distribution, substations, transformers, switchgear, protection relays, electrical switching, motors and motor starters, UPS and battery charger systems, variable frequency drives/soft starters, grounding systems, lighting, cathodic protection, portable electrical equipment and LV distribution systems, etc). Have achieved Senior Authorised Person status or be Authorised Person for switching and operations on HV network. Take active part in managing Ex inspection programme.
