Numerical validation of non-destructive testing on materials

Nondestructive Testing is a technique used in engineering to measure the properties of a material or system without destroying its present or future functionality. It does not repeatedly change the material being inspected. It involves the detection and analysis of flaws in materials and devices to estimate and avoid failure.

It is a very valuable technique that saves both money and time in product assessment and examination.  Experiment was carried out on testing of material using ultrasonic sensors on various material, the interaction of the ultrasonic wave and the material structures were presented.

One of the studies was performed using Pundit Lab testing equipment. UPV of concrete was determined on mortar mixtures with a Water-to-Cement (W/C) ratio, other test carried out on other materials was also presented. The numerical simulation was validated using the experimental results.
