Job details:
A Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Level 3 Consultant, Trainer and Examiner is sought to provide a high standard of consultancy, training, examination and certification services in various NDT and materials evaluation 
methods.

Key performance areas:

  • Deliver contracted Level 3 consultancy services to a high standard to ensure that clients’ NDT facilities comply with industry standards, such as Nadcap, via regular on-site audits and frequent dialogue
  • Document audit findings and produce clear and concise audit reports
  • Maintain effective client relationships, maximising revenue and generating opportunities
  • Generate new revenue through new client development
  • Develop and approve NDT procedures, written practices and NDT techniques to a high standard that complies with clients’ prime manufacturers
  • Handle clients’ NDT consultancy- and training-related enquiries via telephone, email and on-site visits
  • Deliver training of a high standard to students in various NDT and materials evaluation methods, in multiple certification schemes
  • Develop programmes of learning activities, including planning, preparing, delivering and researching training sessions at both ETS facilities and client facilities in the UK
  • Prepare learning materials including an annual review and an update of ETS training
  • Maintain accurate records of training for all students as required. Provide feedback to the client organisations on all training activities
  • Check and assess students’ work in accordance with industry standards and guidelines and provide constructive feedback
  • Write employer-based examination papers and invigilate and mark examinations 
  • Liaise with other specialist NDT professionals, both internally and externally, in order to ensure contemporary thinking and practice is integrated into training
  • Attend training courses as required
  • Ensure adequate self-development and training/cross-training is undertaken to fulfil the role and responsibilities, share knowledge with team members and contribute to team development.
Key attributes/person specification:
Essential:
  • Extensive knowledge of own subject area with substantial industrial NDT experience, holding PCN/ASNT Level 3 certification in multiple NDT methods
  • Ability to assume full technical responsibility for clients’ NDT facilities
  • Proven experience of providing solutions to clients’ NDT inspection-related problems
  • Willingness to be flexible and multi-task as part of a team and contribute to company objectives
  • Strongly motivated to achieve results, with a high degree of professionalism, honesty and integrity
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills and able to prioritise workloads with competing 
  • deadlines
  • Ability to work well with students of all ages and backgrounds, with good verbal communication skills and the ability to teach and impart knowledge regarding complicated physics and mathematical-based NDT concepts and techniques
  • Good written skills and the ability to produce coursework and training materials, as well as NDT procedures, written practices, techniques and audits
  • Creative skills to plan and deliver lessons in a professional, positive and engaging manner
  • Willing to train and upgrade personal certification to PCN/ASNT 
  • Level 3, as well as train and learn new 
  • methods
  • E-literate and competent in developing, administering and using PC and associated networks and systems (for example Microsoft Office) and accounting packages.
  • Full driving licence.
