A Hardness and Non-Destructive Tester is required for a specialist testing centre based in Wolverhampton. The company specialises in magnetic particle inspection, dye penetrant inspection and ultrasonic NDT for sectors including oil/petrochemical, fasteners, automotive, aerospace and energy markets. This is a contract-based role with a requirement to work on-site at various locations across the UK. Working Monday-Friday 8.30 am-5:00 pm or as required by their clients.

The main duties of the Non-Destructive Tester role will include:
  • Magnetic particle testing with the use of swinging field orientations and Busbar.
  • Dye penetrant testing, both in-house or onsite at client’s locations. Mainly to test non-porous ferrous and non-ferrous materials of any size including metals, plastics and ceramics
  • Ultrasound testing on bar stock/material and forgings on internal discontinuities
  • Radiographic testing onsite or within clients base, mainly to test welded parts, cast or forged components for sectors such as power, construction, automotive and aerospace environments.

The following skills are required for the Non-Destructive Testing role:
  • Must be PCN/ASTN trained
  • Level 2 qualified in magnetic particle, dye penetrant and ultrasonic testing. The applicant will need to be qualified in one of these disciplines
  • Experience of non-destructive testing within a variety of market sectors including aerospace, oil & gas, nuclear and automotive
  • Must have worked on a variety of flow control systems
  • Must have been assessed through 450 hours of training and assessments.

Suitable applicants must have experience within a busy non-destructive testing environment and have an excellent understanding of testing procedures, working towards industry standards.
