TWI is seeking a Plant Inspection Lecturer/BGAS to join its successful Training and Examination Services group.

The main responsibilities of the role are as follows: teaching and delivering BGAS/plant inspection knowledge and competence skills to external candidates; developing examination questions that are relevant to coursework and examining body specifications; invigilating exams and conducting the marking of examinations, delivered worldwide, in a timely manner; ensuring that standards are maintained and procedures applied; assisting with UK and overseas audits, where appropriate; liaising with senior managers and programme managers in the UK and overseas; providing technical knowledge and assistance to other team members to ensure compliance with TES governance and procedures; overseeing the compliance of new training and examination technologies introduced into the TES welding programmes; and mentoring and supporting other team members, as required.

The aim of the role is to provide outstanding customer service, but with a business focus that will support the continued expansion and success of the organisation. The successful candidate must have the following skills and experience:

  • CSWIP and/or BGAS qualifications
  • Knowledge of TES products and services
  • Teaching experience
  • Organisational skills
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of internal and external audits
  • The ability to engage with emerging technologies, particularly applied to new teaching and examination methods.
