As a Senior Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) Engineer, you will have a chance to support the NDE department of Primary Components Operations (PCO).

PCO is going through exciting times and delivering significant change. To meet the demands of our customers, we continue to grow across all areas of the business. The NDE team is part of the Manufacturing Engineering department whose aim is to develop, implement and govern capable methods of inspection for a wide range of components and geometries throughout the manufacturing lifecycle. This includes ensuring customer and business requirements for safety, quality, cost and delivery are met, as well as compliance to design intent.

Our nuclear business is a leader in propulsion system design and development for the Royal Navy's nuclear submarine fleet and the sole provider and technical authority, managing all aspects of plant design, safety, manufacture, performance and through-life support.
As a Senior NDE Engineer, you will be developing NDE procedures (ultrasonic, radiography, dye penetrant and magnetic particle) required for the inspection of product in manufacture.


  • PCN Level 2 in Radiography
  • Educated to degree level in an engineering discipline or able to demonstrate equivalence via a trade apprenticeship or significant working experience
  • Good degree of tolerance for managing pressure/stressful situations
  • Capable of working and managing multiple tasks and programmes
  • Excellent IT skills. 
  • PCN L2 Ultrasonic Testing of Welds
  • PCN L2 Liquid Penetrant
  • PCN L2 Magnetic Particle
  • PCN L3 in Radiography
  • PCN L3 in Ultrasonic Testing of Welds.
