Inductosense is a spin-out company from University of Bristol developing novel wireless sensing technology. Our battery-free ultrasonic sensors can be fixed to structures enabling through life monitoring of corrosion or detection of other defects. We are developing the technology for a range of applications and markets, including Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Aerospace and Composites. This is a great opportunity to become a key member of a fast-growing, dynamic start-up company based in Bristol.

The Role

We are looking for an Applications Engineer to work as a key member of the R&D team on developing wireless sensing technology. This is a technical and customer-facing role where precision and innovation are key. The role will include developing and prototyping Inductosense technology for specific applications, further development of sensors and working with partnering companies on trials.


  • University degree in Engineering or Physics 
  • Competent in using Matlab
  • Experience of non-destructive testing methods
  • Experience of working closely with customers 
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Right to work and live in the UK.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and techniques
  • Knowledge of piezoelectric materials and ultrasonic NDT
  • Knowledge of signal processing
  • Knowledge of electromagnetic theory
  • Experience of producing technical project plans 
  • Oil & Gas industry experience.
