A specialist manufacturing and engineering company delivering high-quality process equipment packages is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Lead who steers from the front, champions best practices and inspires a proactive, safety-first mindset across the business. Whether the successful candidate is already qualified or working towards a National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) certification, the company is open to all experience levels. What matters most is drive, leadership and commitment to building a safe and sustainable workplace.

The company’s facility combines advanced fabrication, testing and inspection capabilities, including pipe welding, mechanical fitting and in-house Level 2 weld inspection and non-destructive testing (NDT) services, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality and reliability.


Key responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage and monitor the site’s EHS management systems (ISO 14001:2015/ISO 45001:2018)
  • Implement and uphold site-wide EHS programmes, policies and training initiatives
  • Manage control of substances hazardous to health (COSHH) and ensure safe handling of hazardous substances
  • Conduct risk assessments, support occupational health activities and maintain accurate EHS reporting
  • Analyse data to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities
  • Act as the main point of contact for regulatory bodies and external audits
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including drills and training
  • Promote a positive safety culture through engagement, communication and recognition
  • Support sustainability initiatives (waste reduction, energy efficiency and environmental performance).

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in an EHS or HSE-focused environment
  • NEBOSH certificate or diploma (or working towards this)
  • Strong organisational and document management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • A proactive, collaborative approach with strong attention to detail
  • A full UK driving licence is required.

This role is initially a contract/ temporary position; however, it could lead to a permanent position.
