Oceanscan Ltd offers rental, calibration and service of non-destructive testing (NDT) equipment, sale of NDT equipment and consumables. From 2024, HPR (UK), part of the Oceanscan Group, can supply competent NDT personnel within a range of NDT disciplines.

As of 22 October 2024, Oceanscan has been acquired by Venterra Group and joins a highly successful group of companies within the offshore renewables sector.

For more than 30 years, Oceanscan Ltd has specialised in the supply of the latest and most advanced technology equipment, offering solutions to the automotive, aerospace, defence, energy, nuclear, petrochemical and renewables industries. This comprises applications both onshore, offshore and subsea.

Headquartered in Aberdeen, the Oceanscan Group includes Sercal Non Destructive Test Equipment Ltd, HPR (UK) and GeoForce Technical Services Ltd amongst its subsidiaries. With offices in the UK, Singapore and the USA and an extensive network of partner companies, Oceanscan continues to support its customers globally.

Oceanscan is the official distributor for Sonatest and Ekoscan as well as SREM consumables that are on offer for sale or rental, an industry-leading range of equipment and personnel, including industrial radiography products such as Waygate Technologies’ DXR75P-HR digital X-ray detectors, AGFA film, film processors and CR imaging plates.

As a UK and Ireland agent for SREM Technologies (a Sofranel Group company and a European leader in NDT), Oceanscan offers a full range of chemical products for magnetic particle inspection, penetrant and ultrasonic testing.

Oceanscan operates a quality system that is registered to ISO 9001:2015 and is with Sercal accredited by UKAS to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard 'General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories'. The company provides calibration and repair services from its UKAS-accredited laboratories in Aberdeen and Cannock, where it can calibrate the most sophisticated equipment, including phased array products.

Oceanscan is a member of many certification bodies and associations, including the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT), the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT), the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) and the Global Underwater Hub (GUH).
