About the conference

5-7 July 2027
The Royal Society of Arts, London, UK

Incorporating the international workshop ‘Analysing Art: New Technologies – New Applications’.

Bringing together conservationists, restorers, curators, academics, government and business leaders.

Non-intrusive inspection, assessment and evaluation have
become crucial methods in the conservation and sustainability
of art and cultural heritage. With the aim of promoting education
and competence in this field, the Art ‘27 Conference represents
one of the most creative initiatives in this area. The effective multidisciplinary cooperation among experts will lead to continuous development of new scientific methods in the fields of preservation, restoration and analysis of cultural and historical artworks.

Highlighting advances in NDT for the conservation of art, the
international workshop ‘Analysing Art: New Technologies –
New Solutions’ is, for 2027, being incorporated into the Art ‘27 Conference to bring together conservationists, restorers,
curators, academics, government and business leaders
to increase development work in art and cultural heritage conservation technologies.

The International Committee for Non-Destructive Testing (ICNDT) Specialist International Group ‘Non-Destructive
Testing (NDT) of Art and Cultural Heritage’ has, since 2016, successfully organised this series of workshops, hosted in London (2016), St Petersburg (2018), Florence (2022) and Antwerp (2025), and it has become an important platform
for experts from all over the world to meet and tackle
problems and issues to achieve the common goal of the
preservation and study of cultural and historical heritage.
