Waygate Technologies, a world leader in industrial inspection solutions, has announced the launch of a next-generation digital X-ray detector solution for cabinet integration. With the new Seifert DXR 100S-41M and DXR 200S-41M, the company offers its latest industry-proven detector technology as a standalone package for retrofits of existing X-ray facilities, from film to digital detector array (DDA) and image intensifier-based systems. The extension to the Seifert DXR portfolio targets applications in engineering and production environments of the aerospace, aviation, automotive, power generation and medical devices industries, among others. From the detection of flaws in critical welds, castings, turbine and compressor blades, to electrical, military and even prosthetic components, the two Seifert solutions improve inspection efficiency for a wide range of industries and applications.Equipped with Waygate Technologies’ proprietary Dynamic 41 detector technology, the DXR 100S-41M and DXR 200S-41M packages combine increased detector sensitivity, a larger imaging area, faster frame rates and a longer lifespan.
Both have an active area of 405 mm × 405 mm or 16" × 16", which, when compared to other DDA-based solutions, allows larger or multiple components to be inspected, increasing productivity. Thanks to balanced dose sensitivity and enhanced electronics, both detectors achieve the required radiographic image quality in seconds. The Dynamic 41 detector technology applied in this series excels in signal-to-noise ratio, sharpness and radiographic contrast over a wide dynamic range. Its temperature control allows for stable operation ensuring consistent output and inspection repeatability, even in high-production environments. The DXR 100S-41M solution is said to double resolution in comparison to other state-of-the-art 200 μm-pixel size detectors, without impacting cycle time.Next to the detectors with a pixel size of 100 μm or 200 μm, which can both be easily wall or floor mounted, the package solutions include a PC with Waygate Technologies’ patented Rhythm Insight image acquisition and processing software as well as all equipment needed for the installation and data transfer.
The DXR 100S-41M and DXR 200S-41M detectors are also designed and optimised for long-term reliability in up to 450 kV applications. They come with a tungsten coating for optimum radiation protection, which significantly increases lifetime in industrial usage without compromising on dose sensitivity.
