Enhancing the inspection process using advanced NDT methods

23/06/2021

An NDT and Condition Monitoring Technical Group meeting, titled: ‘Enhancing the Inspection Process using Advanced NDT Methods’, will take place online on 6 July 2021 between 08h30 and 13h30. The event is being run by The Welding Institute jointly with the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT).

In recent years, there have been significant technological developments that allow considerably increased performance of NDT methods to be achieved, in terms of both the ability to detect imperfections and the efficiency of the inspection process. This has largely been enabled by the application of digital technology. While these developments are familiar to NDT professionals, it is not necessarily the case that those responsible for specifying the inspections to be used during the fabrication process to ensure fabrication quality are up to speed with the benefits that these advancements allow.

The aim of this meeting is to present the benefits of a variety of advanced NDT systems and methods and the ways in which they may be used to improve the efficiency of inspections, both during fabrication and in-service. It is aimed at welding engineers, those involved in ensuring fabrication quality, project engineers responsible for specifying NDT requirements and maintenance engineers.

Attendees will benefit from information transfer from experts and discussions, questions and answers on the specific topics. They will gain a broader understanding of the extent of standards in the industry. Attendance at this event qualifies for continuing professional development (CPD) points.

Members of BINDT can register to attend at a discounted rate of £25.00+VAT. Payment must be made before the event in order to receive the joining instructions.
