A Senior Multi-disciplined NDT Technician is sought for a company that develops products and services for use throughout the lifecycle of an offshore oilfield, from drilling to decommissioning.The role:
- Carry out a range of non-destructive testing (NDT) inspection techniques on components, pipework and structural assemblies, etc, in order to establish acceptability to specification.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Carry out the most effective NDT techniques on components requiring inspection
- Ensure that the work area is safe to carry out NDT activities
- Carry out risk assessments/Take 2 as required
- Ensure NDT equipment function tests are performed according to the procedure and any faulty equipment is detailed back to the supervisor
- Ensure inspection is carried out within the parameters of the applicable specification
- Evaluate the results of the test in accordance with the applicable specification
- Carry out work in a timely and efficient manner in order to meet deadlines, changing priorities when the situation requires
- Carry out work in accordance with the company’s operating procedures and statutory/client specifications and requirements
- Produce a clear and concise report detailing the methods, results and all findings, noting any applicable limitations or test restrictions
- Ensure any areas of high density are communicated to supervision
- Undertake any other duties of a reasonable nature as required by supervision or management
- Carry out work in accordance with the company’s health, safety, environmental and quality systems.
Qualifications:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Required:- PCN Level 2 ultrasonics 3.1 and 3.2 and/or SNT Level 2 thickness lamination and corrosion monitoring
- PCN/SNT Level 2 liquid penetrant
- PCN/SNT Level 2 magnetic particle or both
- Positive material identification (PMI)
- Hardness testing
- Five years’ experience
- Full UK driving licence.

- Rope access: Industrial Rope Access Trade Association (IRATA) Level 1, 2 or 3
- American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) ultrasonic thickness corrosion monitoring
- Hardness testing

- Further NDT qualifications
- GCSE/standard grade pass in English, maths and science.
