The Underwater Centre in Fort William, Scotland has been operating since 1972 and is the world's leading commercial diver and ROV training centre.
It is the only school to offer all Health & Safety Executive (HSE)-approved qualifications in air and mixed gas closed bell, diver training, as well as offering additional skills courses such as:
- Diver Medic Technician - DMT
- First Aid at Work, with oxygen provider if required
- Underwater Inspection
- Wet-welding - currently assessed, though not coded, against the AWS 3.6M standard for underwater fillet welds
- Underwater cutting - ultra-thermic, oxy-arc cutting
The Underwater Centre is also approved to deliver IMCA pre-certification training:
- Assistant Life Support Technician – ALST
- Air and Closed Bell Trainee Supervisor
The Underwater Centre also operates one of the most industry-focused remotely operated vehicle (ROV) courses run anywhere in the world.
