Rig Inspection Services (RIS) is Odfjell Drilling’s rope access specialist projects and inspection unit. The unit’s offering spans rig condition surveys, traditional and advanced NDT services, DROPS management, hose management, specialist rigging and lifting planning and execution and mechanical and electrical derrick services.

This service covers annual routines such as derrick inspection, dropped object prevention and load path inspections, to six- and twelve-monthly lifting equipment examinations and drilling equipment NDT, through to SPS/RS and five-yearly classification inspection projects. Additional expertise within hose management and ATEX inspections allows the company to deliver work scopes individually or as multi-disciplined campaigns.

Derrick services capabilities covers a wide range of rope access-based mechanical trades to support offshore maintenance and engineering tasks throughout the drilling package. Covering all mechanical and electrical trades and specialising particularly in non-crane-assisted rigging and lifting. These services can be provided individually as a quick response mitigation of downtime or as a planned and work-packed component of a yard stay, rig re-activation or decommissioning project.
