Oceanscan expands rental fleet

Oceanscan Ltd has announced a recent investment in new GE equipment. As a global leader in NDT rentals, Oceanscan is continually investing in new and emerging technologies.
Adding to its already expansive rental fleet, Oceanscan has invested in 10 GE Mentor EM units and, most recently, a Mentor iQ, highlighting the fact that it is committed to having the most advanced equipment to provide to its customers.

The GE Mentor EM redefines eddy current inspection and it can be used in many scenarios, as the high-resolution touchscreen allows the operator to see in any light and it can even be used while wearing gloves. The easy-to-use technology provides a user-friendly interface, which can be customised for data collection. Real-time inspection readings can guarantee more precise data and faster decisions for the customer, which is important in an age where traceability is key.
Oceanscan also offers a wide range of probes for use with the Mentor EM from its consumables department based at the Aberdeen office.
The Mentor Visual iQ is a forerunner in remote visual inspection technology for the aerospace and oil & gas industries, as well as general inspection. As an advanced video borescope, it incorporates many features to improve critical asset decisions and inspection productivity. “As many of our clients rely on fast, reliable detections to minimise their downtime and equipment failures, we believe this is the piece of equipment that fulfils all these criteria and more,” continued Bancroft.
With state-of-the-art 3D phase measurement and analysis, the iQ can accurately detect defects such as corrosion, cracks and blockages. It combines this accuracy with a portable robust unit for greater mobility and an easy-to-use interface.
