Have your say: securing the best outcome for the UK and engineering from the EU negotiations
04/08/2016
What will be the impact of the UK’s exit from the European Union on engineering in industry and academia? How can the engineering community help secure the best outcomes from forthcoming negotiations? The 38 professional organisations in engineering have joined forces to provide evidence based advice to government and ensure that the needs of all sectors of engineering are represented and understood.
Led by the Royal Academy of Engineering, this project is engaging in wide consultation across engineering and beyond to gather evidence, analyse the risks and opportunities and produce advice to underpin a strong negotiating position and a positive result for the UK.
It is vital that this advice draws widely on the experience and expertise of the whole engineering community. You are invited to join us for a webinar at noon on Monday 8 August to help shape our approach and to have your say in the advice being prepared for government. There will be a brief presentation introducing the project, followed by an hour’s forum during which you can share your points of view.
Subject-specific workshops in August will then provide further opportunities to input on particular areas of opportunity and risk. In the first instance, these will focus on higher education, energy and the environment, and industrial strategy.
We look forward sharing our ideas and receiving your input.
