Mobile NVRs launched

IDIS has launched ruggedised mobile network video recorders (NVRs) for use in the transport sector.

The DR-6308PM and DR-6361PSM recorders are for use in public transport and other applications where interior and exterior vehicle activity needs to be captured in high resolution.

Featuring an anti-shock and anti-vibration design (US military MIL-STD-810 approved), the new models overcome the problem of noise and inconsistent image quality that can affect standard recording devices in mobile situations, the makers claim.

The automatic data back-up over Wi-Fi allows integration into centralised monitoring systems. A dual-track recording feature also maximises storage capacity. Users can choose to store recordings of particular incidents, along with standard quality recordings of general video footage for longer
retention.

The new mobile NVRs offer 480 inch/s at 4K ultra HD (UHD)recording performance (for all 16 channels), H.265 and H.264 dual codec support and 210 Mb/s of recording bandwidth. The products also feature a three-axis accelerometer that detects emergency stops and starts, integrated power supply and an isolated power block that protects internal circuitry to ensure that data is not lost during loss of power or an over-voltage event.

The recorders come with the option of IDIS Center video management software (VMS) – a free, customisable management system that supports up to 1024 devices – or the enterprise-level IDIS Solution Suite, which offers a modular design, without software maintenance agreements. IDIS Center VMS features include map monitoring, which displays vehicle status information (such as position and speed) and allows recorded video to be viewed with a single click, system health monitoring, accelerated configuration, power management and dual stream recording.
