Thermography Open Day
24/12/2014
Although a relatively recent arrival at the NDT stable, thermography has established itself both in the UK and globally as a significant technology enabling an effective and efficient route to planned maintenance. As the thermography industry has grown and attracted more practitioners to the many applications it now covers, so the demand for training has grown.
With this growth is the obvious demand for quality systems that promote the continued improvement of the training offer, including CPD, such as encouraging existing and aspiring thermographers towards PCN registration for third-party certification, developing the means to more effectively acquire and grow their technical competence and to access on-going support as they develop their technical experience and skills in this technology.
The need for clarity regarding certification, to employ training technologies that work more effectively and integrating support and professional development, are all areas that are ripe for extending and achieving an improved quality offer from the available training organisations.
Infrared Training Limited (IRT) is an organisation that provides thermography training as a core business. It is based at the Jaguar/LandRover site in Liverpool and exclusively provides training with a global reach across a wide range of industries. A key objective for the organisation is the development and promotion of training and education in the field and the improvement of quality in thermography practice. To this end, IRT has developed online aspects of its course and training manual to reduce the number of training days, introduced the latest in educational technology in the training room and is actively promoting an active discourse on some of the wider issues around in the thermography industry today.
To this end, IRT is hosting a Launch/Open Day to:
• Demonstrate and exhibit some of its training resources and strategies
• Provide an opportunity for a number of speakers to address some of the current areas of interest in the industry
• Invite key equipment distributors to show off their latest wares
• Generally offer an opportunity to reconnect, network and spend some time with fellow practitioners.
IRT is inviting thermographers, training managers, people responsible for condition monitoring and planned maintenance and those with a strategic overview of their company’s needs to the Open Day, to be held on Wednesday 21 January 2015 between 11h00 and 14h00.
