Dry powder concentrates

Helling, a globally recognised manufacturer of high-quality products for all aspects of non-destructive testing, offers a range of convenient products for magnetic particle testing, including dry powder concentrates.Fluorescent and coloured magnetic powder suspensions can be produced with dry concentrates; simply select the magnetic powder with the required grain size. For one litre of water-based magnetic powder suspension, only 10 g of dry concentrate is required (at a mixture ratio of 1:100). For coloured detection media such as BW 333 (black, packaging unit 1.5 kg), 15 g of dry concentrate per litre is sufficient. Tap water can be used to finalise the production of the suspension.
The dry concentrate already contains the required anti-foaming, corrosion protection and wetting agents. The ready-made suspension is halogen- and silicone-free.
Advantages of dry concentrates include a significant reduction of storage capacities, minimised transport costs, no hazardous material, viz no restrictions of transportation (aeroplane, street or sea), just-in-time mixture of random quantities and CO2 reduction through smaller transport quantities and waiving of propellants.
The production process is very simple: the dry concentrate is mixed with tap water, stirred and, after five minutes of dwell time, the suspension is ready for use. The suspension is spread evenly onto the test area using a pressure pump sprayer. It is also appropriate for testing corrosion-sensitive test components. The indications obtained are said to be brilliant and have high contrast.
